Inspiration
for “Woven Together”
This
painting states, “We are all woven together in time”. English, Greek, and a
numerical translation were used in the circles that connect the hands of many
cultures. I believe we need “…a time to love…” (Eccl. 3:8) Christians of all
denominations must focus on what we have in common, which is the Love of
Christ. We can become one body in Christ when we begin to respect our
differences and “…embrace each other…” (Eccl.3:5) as we pray together of our
love for our Lord Jesus Christ.

Inspiration for “Blessing & Blues”
“A time to weep, and a time to laugh…” Eccl. 3:4. I am a grandma now, and blessed with 3 wonderful grandsons. The first was a blessing that brought many tears and concerns. Liam was a ‘blue’ baby, and had to have open heart surgery the day after his birth. (Tetrology of fallot with VSD) He had two more heart surgeries before he reached 15 months of age. At many times his tiny body was hooked up to so many electronic boxes. Liam is now a healthy, happy four year old that brings us great joy and laughter.

The Lord allows
“a time of war and a time of peace.” (Eccl. 3:8) One of my dreams as a child
was to travel the world. After my calling to teach, my dream was fulfilled. My
fourth grade class helped me earn a three week Fulbright memorial scholarship
to Japan. I stayed with a family whose father fought in WWII. Our fathers had
each fought for their beliefs. Their children forgave. My father traveled to
Japan for war. I journeyed in peace. It was a few years after that trip that I
created this Japanese inspired, folded and sculpted paper vase.
